Built to help instructors develop
Knowledgeablee Instructor Training was founded by Mick Knowles and Lee Jowett, two driving instructors who wanted to give something back to the profession. We deliver CPD, workshops and in-car training to PDIs and ADIs across the country, all built on one belief: that better instructors make safer roads.
Our story
How KIT began
When the DVSA stopped testing B+E in September 2021, a large part of Mick's work disappeared overnight. He was already ORDIT registered and delivering in-car training to PDIs and ADIs, so moving further into instructor development was the natural next step.
A few days later he took the idea to Lee. They met in early October 2021, agreed on it, and settled on the name that same day. Rather than rush, they gave themselves six months to build the products properly and set a launch date for the end of April 2022. They also set themselves five-year goals, and have already surpassed them.
The company launched on time. The first KIT Mag went out at the end of April 2022, and the first Client Centred Learning and Standards Check workshop ran in Pontefract on 10 June 2022.

Look beyond the fault
We help instructors understand why something happened, not just what happened, so they can coach rather than correct.
Development first
Our training is built to be reflected on and applied in real lessons, not simply watched once and quickly forgotten.
Road safety first
We are passionate about road safety, and helping PDIs and ADIs develop is precisely how we contribute to it.
The people behind it
Mick and Lee
Lee qualified as an ADI in 2010 and Mick in 2011. Mick is ORDIT registered, and both hold the BTEC Level 4 in Coaching for Driver Development. Before launching KIT, both were trainers for Tri-Coaching Partnership.
Between them they bring more than 30 years of driving instruction and development, and thousands of hours of their own continuing professional development. They travel the country delivering workshops and present at national conferences, local associations and online for a range of organisations.
